Model from Create Talents Stuns in Uomo Collezioni Boutique’s Canali Collection at Marina Bay Sands

The leading fashion from the top four capitals of fashion New York, Milan, London, and Paris came in unison to showcase and pay tribute to the biggest fashion weeks from around the world in an event entitled ‘Front Row 2016’ at The Shoppes at the Marina Bay Sands.

A whopping number of more than 70 major luxury retailers and brands such as Diane von Furstenberg, Burberry, and Coach were featured over the month from September 8th to October 5th.

Amongst these greats, was the equally prestigious Uomo Collezioni boutique that prides a Line of Italian brands such as Tardini, Billionaire, Tateossian and many others. Our model RK10 K was pivotal in the re-launching of one of such brands, the versatile Italian brand Canali in Singapore during this event.

Let’s start off with the suit that will get the Style aficionados on the edge of their seat.

A light sky blue, made to measure tailored suit is being adorned and runway modeled by RK10 K. One of Canali’s specialties is their Su Misura experience, which stands for their specialized way of producing made-to-measure suits that are beyond a specific set of numbers or a list of choices to pick from, it actually involves actual face-to-face discussions with their master tailor and suit connoisseur about the kind of look you want your suit to portray. This gives rise to best kind of personalized suits fluidly matching your tastes and look.

Next, the look of a sophisticated Gentleman exhibited together with a walk of confidence. A checked blazer and an overall dark toned suit are donned by our male model.

Who said Singapore has no fashion sense or even that we don’t have talented models? The celebration of global fashion weeks at the Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands proves the prowess of our small red dot in the fashion world.

Create Talents is proud to be involved in this project and we hope to continue to contributing to the fashion industry of Singapore. Here's a YouTube link to watch the MBS runway event.

Teen Model Portfolio Requirements and Guidelines

Modeling agencies Singapore has an important role in creating a good portfolio for aspiring teenage models to stand a credible chance amidst the high competition.

Teenage years are filled with vigor and beauty, and are the golden years for potential models to step foot into the industry. However, it is precisely because of the fact that many teenagers have much time and beauty to be capable models; the competition they face in the modeling industry becomes very high.

1.    Know your style

There are a numerous modeling styles; research on your preferred modeling style and design your portfolio accordingly. For example, runway modeling is strict on height requirements (above 170cm for most models); one way is to take shots that make you look taller, for example, a bottom-to-up angle has the potential to make you look taller. Whereas an editorial style would require you to have a striking front body shot with a slender figure, which thus requires good technique in posing. For some unique types of modeling like body parts modeling, you must, of course, include a well-taken photograph of the part of the body you want to model for.

2.    Show your versatility in modeling style

You need to include various shots, the more diverse they are, the better your chances at various kinds of jobs. You would have to minimally show at least one front, one side, one upper body, one full body shot and clear face shot. Be creative and communicate with the photographer for more ideas.

3.    Selling yourself

The purpose of a portfolio is to sell your look and your abilities, not what you are wearing. Fancy patterns, colors, jewelry and accessories will unnecessarily affect your original look and style. Wear simple or solid colored clothing in all your shots, and avoid too much color and pattern distractions. Most of the time, clients are looking for a blank canvass and want to use their imagination to suit you to the style they are envisioning.

4.    Maintain your grooming

You need to upkeep grooming a few days in advance from the actual shoot. The basic to–dos are to shape your nails, keep your hair neat and tidy, get a manicure or pedicure if necessary. On the day of the shoot itself, make sure a make-up artist, who knows the look and style you are going for, is engaged together with the photographer.

5.    Arranging your portfolio

Perhaps the hardest task would be the elimination of hundreds of photos. Remember any client would want to see only your best shots. You have to be able to impress the viewer with the fewest number of shots possible. Keep your portfolio from about 10-15 shots, but never more than 20. Put your best 2 on the front and the next best 2 at the back, so they are amazed from start till the end. Be sure to include a profile page with your key details such as height, weight, and the various important sizes such as chest, bust, waist and shoulder sizes.

Your portfolio is akin to a resume, its relevance depends on how updated your skills and knowledge level are. You have to create a resume that is consistently updated as time goes by. Your portfolio look has to resemble your real-life look as closely as possible.

Work closely with model agencies Singapore, and invest a good amount of time and money in a top of the class portfolio with crystal clear digital photographs. A sub-standard portfolio directly translates to mean a lower end model. If you want to go ahead of the curve and impress as a teenage model, your portfolio is a quintessential tool.

4 Beauty Tips from Singapore Models

Singapore’s weather has been tremendously unpredictable and has that been affecting your skin and beauty? Well, you might have gotten advice from many different people, but let us compile for you the four most essential beauty tips from model Singapore that you must follow this season!

1.    Wear Sunscreen

The face of Neutrogena Singapore and the front line woman of skincare, Aimee Cheng-Bradshaw revealed to Her World Plus, that wearing sunscreen is the most important beauty rule to follow. It is not news to say that cold weather is much better for skincare as it leads to lesser acne breakout and tighter skin. However, with temperatures soaring above 32°C on a normal afternoon it is no easy feat to maintain a smooth healthy skin.

When choosing the best sunscreen brands we should never obsess over the SPF value too much as higher SPF values only give material protection. Instead, we should look out for UVA (wrinkling protection) and UVB (burning and tanning) protection that protects the skin more completely. Key values to identify are the PA value and water resistance capabilities as well.

Some recommended brands above SPF15 (doctor’s recommended levels for UVB protection) and UVA protection that works well with make-up are Neutrogena Clinical Fine Fairness Multi-Protect UV Fluid, Eau Thermale Avène Very High Protection Sun Care, DrGL Sun Protection Mist, Shiseido’s Global Suncare Perfect UV Protector.

2.    Invest in cleansing products

This is a basic yet cardinal rule for all women. The day starts with a clean face and ends with a clean face. Make-up no matter how organic isn’t a natural substance that should be on the face constantly. It is essential to let your skin breathe throughout the night. Even if there is no time or it is inconvenient to wash the face, minimally use cleansing wipes to conveniently do the job quickly and effectively. But you would have to agree that splashing the face with water and scrubbing off the makeup with an oil-based remover is a pretty good feeling. Additionally, if you are interested in further hydrating your face you can apply refiner, essence, and moisture cream in that order. If you sleep with the Aircon, your skin dries faster and moisturizing is more necessary as well. Else, a glass of water with a good night’s sleep ought to do the trick.

3.    You are what you drink

For healthy skin and beauty, especially under the hot weather, the standard eight glasses of water a day are quintessential to a natural skin glow. Additionally, drinking a glass of warm water with a slice of lemon or lemon juice in it is the best way to trigger the liver to start detoxifying. Removing toxins from your body helps regulate the natural bodily processes and work to keep your skin beauty in check.

4.    Oily skin

Perhaps the most common problem, not just for a modelSingapore based, but even for international top models who are younger. Natural oil on the skin actually has a purpose of protecting your skin and anti-ageing properties so it’s not a good idea to keep your skin dry all the time as well. Instead, massage a cleanser or exfoliating gel with glycolic acid to remove dirt and dead cells while hydrating the skin and preventing oil secretion.

The Secret to Successful Model Casting

For any aspiring model, successful model casting through a Singapore model agency is most likely the first hurdle to pass and conquer. Some of the most successful models such as Gisele Bundchen, Adriana Lima, and Cara Delevigne have had successful model castings with the Premier leagues of modeling such as the casting call of Victoria’s secret where only a handful of models are chosen amongst thousands who apply. So what are the secrets of such models? Keep reading to find out!

1.    Win the war early

Not all top models start off with a silver spoon to be able to afford high end beauty treatments. Adrina Lima, for example, when starting out focused on getting good sleep and eating healthy. No matter the type of modeling that you want to be in, it is of high importance to lead a healthy lifestyle. That means sleeping early, and eating healthy foods at regular timings. Exercising combined with the right diet brings out your natural skin glow and body figure that you will be confident in showing off.

2.    Keep calm, and explode with confidence.

No one is interested in a pretty faced cover girl anymore. A Singapore model agency would want to know a model’s personality as well. The only way to be for a model is to be confident. Confidence comes naturally when you have prepared well for the casting call. Practice walking in front of a mirror; get your friends (preferably fashion enthusiasts) to comment and critique on your walks and poses. Mentally prepare the answers to possible questions that interviewers may ask. Exude a positive personality with positive vibes, and most importantly, relax! Never show that you are tensed.

3.    “It isn’t about what you are wearing but how you’re wearing it.”

You should never wear anything too extravagant, why? Judges are interested in your authentic beauty. Your makeup should be minimal to none, and you should be wearing simple solid-colored clothing. Wear anything that makes you comfortable. Also avoid unwanted accessories. Judges want to be able to see your pure look so that they can determine the kind of modeling that would suit you. Let them use their creativity to imagine the countless possibilities of jobs and styles that you might fit in. Don’t restrict that process by concealing it with excessive makeup or clothing.

4.    What do judges or interviewers look for?

Key word is relevance. It’s not just about a hot-looking body or pretty face anymore. How relevant your face and figure is matters a lot to the modeling world. How relevant is your body shape to the market? How well does skin glow? Remember your only makeup is confidence; there is no air brush or Sephora makeup for you to hide under.
Still in doubt? Check our model’s tips and how they cracked the casting call.

Marketplace relevance is also particularly why anyone and everyone may be a potentially suitable Singapore model. Even if you get rejected by a Singapore model agency, never lose your hopes. Get better and keep trying, many successful models like Tyra Banks have had to face rejection multiple times before getting their first opportunity. If you never try, you will never know. Follow the tips we have given in this article, and good luck for your casting call!

Create Talents: Check out what our Models are Up to?

Here at Create Talents and Models, we produce talents of all types and absolutely love making a positive impact on people from all walks of life. Spend some time reading through the reviews from models of the various categories we have, and we assure that it will put a smile on your face.

Plus-size

Plus size is still a niche category of modeling in Singapore, but signing up for a talent agency such as Create talents and Models would mean a potential plus sized model would have to compete with the rest of the conventional models for the same client’s offer and acceptance. As such to put oneself t the test requires an immense level of confidence. But this has not stopped our bold and brave plus sized model Dana Thecla Yong, who featured on the front cover of Urban (Fashion section on local newspaper Straits Times) amongst a pool of regular conventional models.

These are some of Dana’s feedback on Create Talents and Models:
“Armed with the little exposure I had on the runway, I decided to challenge myself to more commercial work. So I got in touch with the lovely people at www.createtalentsandmodels.com. These folks knew exactly how to market every type of face and body shape. Late last year, thanks to CT, I appeared on the cover of Urban again, in their Christmas fashion spread.”

Create Talents and Models is extremely proud of Dana for showing that anyone with the right mindset and determination can become a model, and Create Talents can guide you to achieving this reality.

Kid model

Kids are always a charm, and in this review, we include some comments by our kid model Ryan, who has had a photo shoot in Resorts World Sentosa (RWS), Mt Faber Peak ad and acted in a KFC TV commercial. We love developing young talents like Ryan, hear out what he has to say.

My favorite part of modeling is when I get to go for casting sessions, and getting to meet new people. Normally I would be very nervous but then the photographers and the cameramen are always very friendly so it makes the job easier. The most memorable job would be the KFC TVC (Television commercial). It was my very first one, and it was the first time I where I was actually on TV and I enjoyed seeing myself on TV acting.”

Female Model

Our ladies are gorgeous and a treat to watch. See our elegant, beautiful and young Nazli G who has some fantastic things to say about her experiences at Create Talents.

“I did get more confident over the years, because of the people I met through the jobs, the really confident girls, and their confidence rubbed off on me. When I first joined the company, I told myself I would never do video shoots and photo shoots and I’ll just stick to events, but recently I did a video shoot, so I’m quite proud of myself that I did it even though I told myself I was never going to.”

Asked if she previously thought Create Talents was a scam,
“I do receive regular casting calls and job offers, so that changed my mind about it because I am getting jobs, I am getting paid, and it’s not a scam.”

Male model

Check our male model Patrick who is 44, but looks more like a 24-year-old hunk. Zumba is his secret to vitality as he is a full-time Zumba instructor. His fit lifestyle blends well with his modeling work. Find out what he has to say!

Asked to describe us in one word:
“Friendly. I mean Create Talents is quite flexible; they really don’t force you into the job. If let’s say you can’t do it, you just don’t do it. This is the kind of thing I like about Create Talents it doesn’t really force you to take up or go for casting."

Asked if he thought we were a scam:
“Actually, initially, I was quite skeptical. I did hear some stories, but I just told myself, ‘Well, why don’t you try it with an open mind?’ That’s the reason why I actually allowed my son to come for the photo shooting while I actually observe and hang around and you know look at it. So I got to know this company more, understand this company better.”

Senior Model

Age is no restriction as shown by our 57-year-old Ali Khan A. He has been a TV actor since 1990 and also featured in Media Corp Father’s Day TVC.

“I actually came here personally and I met the people here, so I mean it’s impressive.  You look at all those photographs, the models and all that. I don’t think it’s a scam. Well, I am here and you can see me here.”
